Benchmarking
test results - IP Multicast
iBus//MessageBus
dramatically outperforms the competition!
In
tests based upon an openly-available JMS test harness, iBus//MessageBus
shows a dramatic lead in terms of both message producer performance
and message consumer performance - a difference which clearly
marks iBus//MessageBus as the leading JMS IP Multicast product
in the market today.
Why
IP multicast? IP multicast is the key to very high speed reliable
messaging. Solutions such as Financial Information and Dealing
systems, Online Auction websites and other critical data feeds
rely on messages being distributed both rapidly and reliably.

IMPORTANT
NOTE:iBus//MessageBus version 5.0.0
implements a significant increase in performance on Sun Solaris.
Be aware that the test results will show an even greater difference
between the products if this latest version of iBus//MessageBus
is downloaded and tested!

notes:
The
IP multicast protocol allows a highly scalable number of clients
and destinations. Both products have a similar linear behaviour
with increasing number of connections. A doubling in the number
of producers would approximately mean a doubling in the total
amount of produced messages. The same happens with the consumers.
The only limitation is given by the network capacity.
The
comparison between the two message services considers the absolute
throughput in messages per second that are produced or consumed
by one client. Tests have proven that increasing the number
of topics does not essentially change the result.
